You don't quit playing when you get old...you get old when you quit playing.

![]() Hello out there in bicycle land, my name is Mike Munk. Welcome to my cycling website. I’m a retired ('96) Air Force officer and have been dabbling in the sport of cycling since '89. Since retirement I've called Alabama home in the off season and the roads of America are home in the summers. For the past 11 years my wife and I have been leading bicycle rides across the nation with America by Bicycle...a bicycle touring company that specializes in long distance, fully supported rides. Since January 2001, I've tried to create a website that riders of all levels would enjoy. Thanks for dropping by...I hope you enjoy "cycling" through my pages.

As you browse through this site, you'll find lots of photos and day by day accounts of our most recent treks across the US under the link "Most Recent Ride Journals." You'll also find information that will give you an idea of what to expect if you are thinking about long distance touring with a company, photos of our local bike club, and information that may help you deal with situations you may encounter on the road. Plus, if you are in the Montgomery AL area, I've listed about 30 local routes you can try while you are here...bring your bike! If you want to get a feel of what it's like riding across the nation, don't miss the journals. This year's accounts will start in late April. Hope to see you on the road someday. |
