DAY'S OVERVIEW:
Well, here we are getting ready to start another ride into la la land. We
(the staff) got here yesterday and spent the day setting up and preparing for
the upcoming ride down the east. This is a new ride so we get to be
pioneers in the east...pioneers...hmmm. Has a neat sound to it, but it's
going to be interesting trying to figure out how we are going to do lunch and
other logistics for this ride that's a little different in format than what we
are used to. Oh well, tomorrow we see how it's all going to work.
We've made it work on paper...now if we can just get it all together in
practice...stand by for news. I think my biggest chore will be to stay out
of the "DUH" column everyday. Not to worry, I've got a great staff helping
us get down the road albeit we've not worked together before as a group.
It will take a couple days for us to get into our rhythm...then look out.
We got an early start this morning and spent the day putting bikes together and with orientation in the evening. We had the usual missing bolts and small stuff, but we got everyone processed by 3:00 except for two ladies that got stranded in Cincinnati and had to make other flight arrangements. They got here about 6:00 so after getting them situated, we loaded the vans and got ready for the onslaught of luggage that would befall us early in the morning. We won't have a photo of the group for a day or two since we have a long riding day tomorrow and threat of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon...we'll get on the road as soon as we can and try to beat the weather.
That's about it...we have 52 riders that will make their way down the east 32 or so returnees. We have about 42 that are planning to go all the way...all the way to St Augustine! So, hope you'll follow our adventure and see what we are up to...see you then.
DUH! OF THE DAY: See, I'm already there...Tony said he was from the Bahamas during orientation. I asked him if he knew a friend of mine who lived there. He said, your friend lives in Bermuda...oops. I knew it was one of those islands that started with a "B."

Newlyweds, Dave and Pat, share just about everything. Married since 30 June, who said it wouldn't last...look at those smiles. We'll keep you posted if there's any changes.

Just remember Shane, I'm a certified, Mack Daddy mechanic...you just put this thingee into this whatchamagig and turn it until it won't turn anymore. If that won't work, then try something else.
