I take over 15,000 photos every summer of riders riding in all sorts of areas and conditions...sometimes there's someone around to snap a shot of me. Hey, I've ridden all over the country and as you probably can imagine, I have ended up in some unusual places along the way. Here's a sample of some of the more "exotic" places I've ridden my bicycle. Don't worry, I survived all these.
![]() We ride mostly on paved roads but occasionally we have to get on a gravel road...some gravel is larger than others. Petrified Forest in Arizona. |
Winter training in Alabama...it's been a pretty cold winter this year...but we ride when we can.

On the way to Kah-Nee-Tah I happened to take a side trip through the forest. The trip back to the main road required riding a narrow bridge.

Bike's gone! I barely was able to grab this sign before I blew away too. Lots of strong crosswinds on the way to Las Vegas NM. |

My grandkids love it when I race "Thomas the Train."

This guy thought he had me in the sprint...but the timely placement of that pole secured my victory!

Just can't resist a challenge. You can find these hay bails just about anywhere in South Dakota. |
That was easy...No sweat for an experienced on road rider!

Maybe I should have thought out the dismount a bit more.

Every once in a while I have to take time to help the locals with their chores. There are times when I wish I had some granny gears.
