Cecil Circle SoutheastJohn Hall's Store is the start for this and the next 3 routes. There is a store that's open about 200 yards toward Montgomery from John Hall's if you need anything before you get started. John Hall's is about 12 miles out on Vaughn Rd (SR 110) east of Montgomery at the CR 37 intersection. This ride gets you away from the city traffic and these Cecil loops are really nice riding. No really big climbs to speak of and mostly rural, lightly traveled roads. The only drawback is there are not many stores to support you on these loops...so take plenty of food to support yourself.

Cecil SocialThis is a beginner ride. The distance is 24 miles and the terrain as easy as it gets in this area...gently rolling. Also, this ride is easy to navigate as it only has 4 turns. Enjoy this lazy, easy ride in the Montgomery CO countryside.

Cecil Circle EastAgain, John Hall's store is the start point. This 46 mile ride is a pleasure on mostly rural roads. One stretch of rough pavement on CR 2 just as you enter Macon Co. Only store on this route is in Fitzpatrick at 12.2 miles. Easy terrain throughout this route.

Cecil Scenic ShortJohn Hall Store start point. This 59 mile ride is over fairly easy terrain. No significant climbs and only 1 store to stop and refresh. It's not even on the route...you have to go slightly off route at the 13.4 mile point to Ma's Store. If you miss it, there ain't nuttin else until you get back to Cecil.

Cecil Scenic LongThis ride is 75 miles and has 2 stores to support you. One is slightly off route at the 13.4 mile point and the other is at Bean's Crossroads in Bullock Co at the 46 mile point. Mostly easy terrain on this one with 1 good climb just before you get to Hook's Crossroads on CR 15 at about the 41 mile point. Moderate difficulty due to distance. This is a great first long distance ride in the spring since it doesn't have severe terrain. Don't be confused by the second map. It is the Bullock Co, Fitzpatrick start map. It covers the portion of the ride that gets off the first map.

Hope Hull 50 MilesThis 50 mile ride is fairly easy. Terrain is gently rolling for the most part. Nice area to ride. Start at Hope Hull 5 miles south of Montgomery on I-65. Ride starts out on US 31. Use caution in this area while on hwy 31.

Maxwell AFB Lunch Ride Off BaseThese routes are mostly for military folks that need someplace to ride during the lunch period or if they don't have but a short time in the evening after duty hours. This is an 18 mile, mostly flat ride that gets you off the base for a bit. I used to ride this ride almost everyday at lunch if I went off base. Military folks can always ride around the flightline but that gets old after awhile.

Maxwell AFB 39/45 MilesThis is a great ride for after work. It goes out on mostly flat terrain and wanders around the airport through some neat farm country. Use extreme caution when riding on US 80 by the airport. It's 4 lane but no shoulder. Once out in the country, you'll pass lots of farm areas and enjoy gently rolling terrain. You'll have 1 good hill on the return route. If you connect to Lowndesboro on this ride you can add about 30 miles.

Montgomery Century 1998 RouteThis route begins at a Boy Scout Camp about 4 miles out of town on Vaughn Rd. You may not be able to park out there so you may want to park at the store at the intersection of Vaughn Rd and Pike Rd. There's a caution light there. It's at the Mary Community about a mile before the Boy Scout Camp on Vaughn. Or you can look at the map and park anywhere on the route since it's a loop. The ride goes out into Bullock Co and back. Nice ride. Map 1 will give you the 50 mile option, but if you want to ride the century, you'll need both maps.

Montgomery Century 2000 RouteThis is a very popular route. It starts at the Pintlala Church in east Montgomery Co. Drive south on I-65 to the first Pintlala exit...hwy 31. Go south on 31 about 7 miles to Pintlala. There's a stop light there and the church in on the left at the light. The route loops into Montgomery Co and back to the church at 50 miles then loops into Lowndes Co for the second 50 miles. There are 2 maps, one for each loop and several options for distances. Many people use each loop as a separate ride.

Pike Road 17/26 MilesThis if a favorite area to ride for those in east Montgomery. The terrain is gently rolling and rural. This ride is rated as easy.
| |||||||||||
Red's Little School House 37 MilesThis ride is a little drive to get to unless you ride from Montgomery to the start. The terrain is rolling...moderate in some spots if you ride from Montgomery. That will give you a great day of over 70 miles. After you enjoy the loop from the old school house, stay awhile and enjoy some good old fashioned home cooking. Red's is a "diamond in the rough" out in this country. Hey, even President Bush (George the first) has eaten here on his bass fishing trips to Alabama. Worth the effort to get there. Difficulty is easy for the published route and the food is great.

Ray Thorington Baptist Church 26/30 MilesThe Ray Thorington Baptist Church is a favorite starting place for the bike club rides. Ray Thorington Rd is 1 mile east of Taylor Rd on Vaughn Rd. The church is 1 mile out Ray Thorington Rd on the right. East Montgomery is expanding in that direction but it's still a nice ride out in the country after you get past the airport. Gently rolling terrain awaits the rider and the distances are easy.

Ray Thorington Baptist Church 56 MilesFor a 56 mile ride, this one is pretty easy and a nice ride out in the country. Terrain is gently rolling and the difficulty moderate (due to distance only).

Ray Thorington Baptist Church via Bullock CountyThis is a great ride out in the rural areas of southern Montgomery Co and Bullock Co. The distance makes this ride worth getting your bike out for. The terrain is gently to moderately rolling in spots and the distance is close to 80 miles. There is a small portion of this route that falls outside the map coverage. The Pike Co section is between maps.

Waugh Wrangler SouthWaugh is east of town on I-85 North about 7 miles past AUM. Most locals ride their bikes from Montgomery. Park at one of the convenient stores at the interstate intersection. After the ride, don't miss eating at the Char House about a quarter mile east on 80 from the interstate. They are world famous for their BBQ chicken and banana pudding. Terrain is flat to gently rolling. Distance is 42 miles published. If you ride from Montgomery out the frontage roads along I-85, it will add about 20 miles.

Waugh Wyde West(It's really east, but the catchy name sounds better with west!) Same for the start info as Wrangler South. This ride goes east out of Waugh into Macon Co. Terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling. Mileage is 42 miles. Even though you ride a short way, you can still enjoy the banana pudding on the return.
