Dallas County Diversion |

Terrain: This ride starts
out basically flat along a railroad track with 2 easy climbs in the first 16
miles. You’ll see high terrain on
either side of you as you roll up the valley. Then you’ll have a good climb up onto a ridgeline after you
turn back to the south at about mile 16.
You’ll then have rolling terrain until you descend again at about mile
28. Then it’s flat back to parking. I always love this ride since it has both
flat sections and a beautiful ride along the ridge in Dallas County. Distance: 32 miles Level: Easy to Intermediate To get to the start: Leave Prattville on Hwy 14 west toward Selma. Burnsville is about 27 miles from downtown Prattville out Hwy 14. Park at any of the stores immediately after the intersection of Hwy 140 to the left off of 14. There are a couple of country stores at the intersection of CR 79 where this route description starts. This ride start location is a long way out in the country, but I always enjoy this route. It’s worth the drive to get to a new, rural area. |
