Terrain: Mostly rolling terrain with one hilly section near the end of CR 23 Distance: 38 Miles Level: Easy to intermediate From Montgomery: Take US 231 north to Wetumpka. From there take Hwy 111 north approximately 10 miles to Holtville. Holtville is also known as Slapout. Seems the name was adopted because of a local store that was always "slap out of what ever it was you needed at the time." Park at the filling station or bank at the intersection of Hwy 111 and CR 23 (caution light). From Prattville: Take 14 east to 143 north in Elmore. Follow 143 to 111. Go right on Hwy 111 to the Holtville caution light. Store is on the right. Hey, they have a light! Start at caution light intersection...take CR 23 north. |
