Terrain: Flat in areas to moderately rolling Distance: 77 Miles Level: Intermediate to Strenuous You'll find the Ray Thorington Baptist Church on Ray Thorington (CR 75) in east Montgomery. From the Eastdale Mall, go east on Atlanta Hwy to Taylor Rd. Turn right on Taylor (south) and turn left on Vaughn Rd. Go east on Vaughn for 1 mile to Ray Thorington and take a right. Bear left at the fork just after the turn on Ray Thorington…the church is 1 mile on the right On I-85, go north to the Taylor Rd exit and go right at the end of the ramp. Go to Vaughn Rd and take a left. Go east on Vaughn for 1 mile to Ray Thorington and take a right. Bear left at the fork just after the turn on Ray Thorington…the church is 1 mile on the right This is a popular starting location for weekend club rides and is an area most cyclists use in east Montgomery despite the growing development out CR 75 and the busier traffic on CR 85. It’s not too bad on weekends, but during the week CR 85 now has some truck traffic that cuts through from 231 around east Montgomery. This route will take you outside the normal riding areas of most that ride in east Montgomery. When you get past Pine Level and into Pike CO, you will be in a very rural area until you get back to Pike Road. Don’t pass up the stores or you may get caught out there without any fuel. There are only 2 stores on this route after you leave Montgomery, but it’s well worth the effort to see new country.

That’s Hwy 110 (Vaughn Rd) If you take a left on 110, you’ll get back to Ray Thorington…about the same distance as the normal route but not as scenic and a bit faster traffic, but you can get home.
